The event consisted of 2 distances the Sprint (Long) – 5k run/32k bike/5k run and the Super Sprint (Short) – 5k run/21k bike/3k run. Both distances were well supported by athletes, with many familiar faces as well as a great amount of newcomers and first timers.

With the rain overnight, we were pleasantly surprised to start the race with the sun peeping through across Swansea Bay. The weather kept at bay for the athletes, spectators and volunteers to enjoy the morning.

The event starts with a nice flat run across the Mumbles Road, taking in the beautiful views across the bay. Once the first leg was complete, it was on to the bike course, which went up into the Gower Pennisula. The event takes in some of the best views in Wales.

The ladies race was also just as close, with less that 4 minutes between our top 3 finishers. Katy Cooper took the Female Mumbles Duathlon 2018 winner, closely followed by Jenny Mcadie from Gower Riders and Rhian Hill from Cardigan Running Club.
