Swansea Bay Health Charity to become Official Charity Partner of Activity Wales Events - Swansea Region

We are delighted to announce that Swansea Bay Health Charity has signed an exclusive 3-year deal to become the Official Charity Partner of Activity Wales Events’ portfolio of events covering the Swansea region.

The deal secures charity rights to both Mumbles Duathlon and Mumbles Triathlon, Gower Triathlon and the coveted UWTSD Swansea Triathlon. SBHC will be using these event platforms and their existing presence in the area to raise vital funds, create exposure of the crucial work they fund, whilst developing a strong relationship and key messaging with both athletes and spectators alike.

Deborah Longman (Head of Fundraising for Swansea Bay Health Charity) expressed her views on the recent announcement,

“We are delighted with this partnership. As Swansea Bay Health Charity covers the local area this will allow us to engage with our local communities at these prestigious sporting events. We know a lot of athletes in the local area are keen to support our hospitals and departments that have affected them personally. We can support these athletes to fundraise for us.“

Swansea Bay Health Charity, registered charity number 1122805, is the official charity of Swansea Bay University Health Board. Swansea Bay Health Charity supports patients, staff and services within Swansea Bay University Health Board. The charity does not replace NHS funding but uses the generous donations received from patients, their families, staff and local communities to provide above and beyond what the NHS can provide.

“It’s been a particularly difficult time for the NHS over the past 22 months with funds and resources stretched to the maximum. We are honoured to be able to assist SBHC over the next 3 years in their fundraising plans and messaging. Deborah and her amazing team are key to generating crucial funds for the Health Board which does such great work in and around the local community and I know our athletes will be keen to support in whatever way they can. It’s a privilege to welcome SBHC to our family of partners and I look forward to developing a strong working relationship with Deborah and her expert team.”

SBHC will have a strong physical and visual presence at all 4 events whilst also promoting a series of exclusive entries to assist in their fundraising efforts. They will also be providing regular email and social media updates to AWE athletes highlighting the projects and work they are supporting in the area.
