Info on the route:  

A Duathlon event based in Mumbles, Swansea. Starting down at Knabb Rock for the first 5km run, followed by a 32k Bike route across the Gower Peninsula, followed by the final 5k run across Mumbles finishing at the pier. Athletes can expect beautiful scenery throughout the duration of the event.  

Why should I take part?  

Mumbles Duathlon is an excellent event for both first timers and experienced athletes. First Timers can benefit greatly from the sprint distance for their first event, providing a great introduction in to multi-sports event. Whereas experienced athletes can use the sprint stance to gain speed and potentially take home a new PB. The run route features a fantastic course boasting spectacular support and beautiful views of Mumbles. Followed by a scenic cycle with tough climbs and more exceptional coast and country views of Swansea before heading to the second and final run route.  

The Mumbles Duathlon makes for a great club event as there are options to participate in a relay team or as an individual.  

All finishers will take home a bespoke medal and are offered a complimentary massage by Gower College Swansea.

First Timers?  

Activity Wales Events will be hosting a Beginners Briefing at 5:30pm on Friday 24th March to answer any questions first time athletes may have. 

  • Get your bike checked prior to the event to ensure optimal safety and performance 
  • Start to fuel your body the week before 
  • Don’t try new products or methods on the day of the event – stick with fueling products and sporting practices that you know and are comfortable with.  
  • Bananas are a great pre-race snack. 
  • Get to know the event rules. These are to ensure the safety and fairness of all athletes. 
  • Take full advantage of resources – read up before, attend first timer and pre-race briefings
