GCS Renew Exciting Title Partnership of Mumbles Duathlon
The team at AWE, Wales’ leading multisport event company, are pleased to announce the exciting partnership renewal of the Mumbles Duathlon 2020 with Gower College Swansea. Following a successful agreement in 2019, the Governors and Management team at GCS have recognised the unique platform the event offers their students by signing a 12-month extension to the agreement.
As a leading higher education provider in South Wales, Gower College Swansea will continue to utilise the partnership to develop their events management programme, whilst offering students first-hand experience of operational techniques and marketing plans involved with delivering such an impressive event.
The principal of Gower College Swansea, Mark Jones said:
“We are delighted to be working once again with Activity Wales Events on the Mumbles Duathlon. This partnership continues to provide a wonderful opportunity for our students to gain the key skills and knowledge needed to run a high profile event, through building on the valuable industry links that are a core part of all of our higher education courses. We are also grateful to Activity Wales Events for their continued support and I know that our students are looking forward to playing their role in, what I am sure will be, another successful event.”
Matthew Evans, CEO at Activity Wales says “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship in such a creative and innovative way with Gower College Swansea. Our marketing and operational teams will be working alongside the students and I am sure both sectors will gain a lot from the extended partnership. Having met the team at Gower College and the facilities on offer, it’s an exciting prospect seeing both the quality of education and the passion in which it is being delivered.”
Mumbles Duathlon is set on the stunning Gower Peninsula and offers both sprint and super sprint distances to athletes from all over the UK and abroad. Taking place on the 21st March, it is a firm favourite amongst both seasoned age groupers and those new to the sport.
