Activity Wales Events Donates Over £2,000 to Swansea Bay Health Charities

Activity Wales Events (AWE) is delighted to announce a donation of over £2,000 to Swansea Bay Health Charities, demonstrating its continued commitment to supporting the local community.

This generous contribution will directly benefit health services in South and West Wales, supporting a range of charity appeals, including the ‘Going the Extra Mile’ campaign in honour of the South West Wales Cancer Centre’s 20th anniversary.

Over the past three years, AWE has had the privilege of hosting multiple high-profile events in the Swansea Bay area, including the renowned Swansea Triathlon, drawing athletes and supporters from across the UK. Through these events, AWE has provided Swansea Bay University Health Board (UHB) staff an engaging platform to participate and make a positive impact on their own workplace and community health services.

Lewis Bradley from Swansea Bay Health Charities expressed gratitude, saying, “We have had a great three years with Activity Wales Events, covering events in the Swansea Bay region and Long Course Weekend Wales. Roughly 85% of our participants were Swansea Bay UHB staff, which allowed us to really engage and support our own workforce while raising money for our charity appeals.”

The funds raised from these events and from generous athlete donations will support essential health services, with a significant portion allocated to the ‘Going the Extra Mile’ appeal. This initiative commemorates the 20th anniversary of the South West Wales Cancer Centre, amplifying fundraising efforts to enhance cancer care and services for the communities in South and West Wales.
