Hundreds of athletes secure their spot for one of the UK’s most iconic sprint triathlons

The Saundersfoot Triathlon has officially sold out for 2026, with all places being snapped up in just 5 weeks! The sprint triathlon takes place at 5 pm on Friday, 11th September 2026, with hundreds of athletes taking on the challenging but rewarding course.

Last year, the event received praise for its electric atmosphere, stunning coastal setting and iconic red carpet finish. Athletes described it as “one of the best sprint triathlons around” and “an unbelievable experience with phenomenal support”.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to see the growth of the Saundersfoot Triathlon over the years”, said Scott Powell, Race Director at Activity Wales Events. “The village turns into the Millennium Stadium for the evening! It’s truly special, and it's one of our favourite events of the year as a team!”

Known for its huge crowds bringing a party-like atmosphere, and demanding course, the Saundersfoot Triathlon attracts athletes from all across the UK to complete the 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run.

The triathlon has benefited the local economy by attracting many visitors who attend the local shops, bars, restaurants and hotels on race day and across the weekend. Many local businesses extend their hours to handle the increase in customers, in addition to the village's hospitality venues offering live entertainment for the post-race parties, creating a lively festival atmosphere throughout Saundersfoot.
