Fishguard Sprint Triathlon Race Profile

09/06/2024
Fishguard, Pembrokeshire
750m Swim / 30 Mile Bike / 3 Mile Run
FROM £69.95

Info on the route:

Athletes begin their race with a 750m sheltered swim in Fishguard Bay, followed by a 13 mile bike course through a section across the North of the county. Athletes will head into the small community village of Mathry before transitioning into the final phase of the triathlon, for the three mile sprint. The final discipline takes place across the beautiful coastal breakwater that prevented the final invasion of Britain in 1797.

The Fishguard Sprint Triathlon is an excellent event for first timers looking to get into triathlons and multi-sports events.

Why should I take part? We have teamed up with Sea Trust Wales – A Pembrokeshire based marine wildlife conversation charity. For each athlete that enters, money from their entry will be donated to this charity to help educate and raise awareness for caring for Pembrokeshire’s marine wildlife. Fishguard Sprint Triathlon is open to age 14+ and is an ideal opportunity for young athletes, firs timers and experienced athletes to participate in. It is a fantastic event all-round, with incredible views, community support and history and heritage along the way.

First Timers:

  • Get all of your kit and equipment organised prior to the event.
  • Start to fuel your body with the right food the week before
  • Don’t try new products or methods on the day of the event – stick with fuelling products and sporting practices that you know and are comfortable with.
  • Bananas are a great pre-race snack, but be careful you don’t overload before the swim for your own safety.
  • Get to know the event rules in plenty of time. These are to ensure the safety and fairness of all athletes.
  • Take full advantage of resources – read up before the event and attend any first timer or pre-race briefings that have been organised.
