Need a reason to enter Gower Triathlon?

Still thinking of signing up to the Gower Triathlon this year?

With only 30 days to go until the Gower Triathlon 2018 we thought we would share some insights of the weekend

Firstly… make a weekend of it!

There’s still time to register… entries close 18th June, giving you plenty of time to enter and plan a mini-break in one of the most beautiful parts of the world – the Gower Coast.

You have two choices when it comes to the race, you can take part in an Olympic distance race, or a fancy dress sprint race! (although you don’t HAVE to be fancy dress… even though it looks great!)

You can even enter as a relay team!

Where to stay?

There are a few options in Port Eynon;

Skysea have a caravan and camping site which is close to the race start and great views of the Bay.

Newpark and Bank Farm also offer camping options and are situated close to the race start

YHA Port Eynon has options for shared dorms or private rooms and is converted from a previous lifeboat station!

Accommodation isn’t limited to the options above, there are a few holiday cottages, b&bs and camp sites that you can check if you search Port Eynon accommodation on google.

What to do?

Port Eynon is a blue flag beach and situated on the beautiful Gower Coast. Relax on the beach or walk in the country side close by. There are lots of secret beaches which can be reached by a short walk and have easy access if you stick to the coastal path.

Have a campfire underneath the stars or a BBQ on the beach to end your day, there are some amazing sunsets to see

If you are staying for longer and want to know about local trips please just email us in the office and we will be happy to advise (

Where to eat?

There are a two fish and chip shops next to the finish line that serves up some lovely fast food!

Not far away is a lovely gastro pub called the Smugglers Haunt, and serves up locally sourced food, as well as a take away menu.

The Ship Inn is close by and a very popular choice for locals and visiting holiday makers, with a great pub grub menu and plenty of space for the whole family.

Again… there are few more choices than this and if you want to go further into Gower, Swansea or Mumbles please let us know and we will happily advise
